/  Press   /  Quick And Dirty Rundown: Matrixyl 3000

Just like our Hyaluronic Acid blog, Quick And Dirty Round Down: Hyaluronic Acid, we received quite a few e-mails concerning what exactly is Matrixyl 3000 and what it does for your skin.

In simple terms: It helps repair and stimulate your skin to enhance its natural anti-aging properties.

Just like Hyaluronic Acid, it is nothing to worry about and is perfectly fine for prolonged use on your skin.

    So, What is Matrixyl 3000?

Matrixyl 3000 is a collagen booster that is comprised of two active peptides, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide and Palmitoyl-Tetrapeptide-7, to assist our skin to work the way it should. Matrixyl 3000 works with the skin to produce more of its collagen, elastin, and Hyaluronic Acid, which keeps our skin looking young and radiant.

The many benefits of Matrixyl 3000:

    • Decreases the appearance of wrinkle density
    • Reduces the volume of wrinkles
    • Decreases wrinkle depth

Things to note about Matrixyl 3000:

    • Does not clog your pores
    • Does not leave your skin feeling tight
    • Does not damage your skin
    • Does not cause breakouts or irritation

We do inform you to please test a small amount as everyone’s skin is different!

“You stated that Matrixyl is comprised of two active peptides. What is a Peptide?”

Peptides are fragments of proteins and are formed when amino acids bond together. There are a few forms of Peptides. Two amino acids that are joined together are called a dipeptide. Three are called a tripeptide. Four are tetrapeptides. And so on. Peptides usually contain 50 or fewer amino acids, while Proteins consist of 50 or more and can be made up of polypeptides.

It can be a bit confusing. Just know that a Peptide is a bond of amino acids, and that all of the peptides we have in our products are safe for your skin.

“Has there been any studies on Matrixyl 3000?”

There have been a few. In a blog by “The Derm Review”, describing more of what Matrixyl 3000 is, they state:

“Numerous studies have proven the anti-aging and anti-wrinkle efficacy of Matrixyl 3000. For example, a clinical study involving female participants demonstrated that after just two months of treatment with Matrixyl 3000, the area occupied by deep wrinkles was reduced by 45%, and the skin’s tonicity increased by nearly 20%. In a separate two month clinical study conducted on a panel of men, the anti-wrinkle efficacy of Matrixyl 3000 was confirmed. As the wrinkle volume decreases (-17.1%), the spread angle increases (+5.4%), which leads to a reduction of the surface occupied by deep wrinkles of nearly 30%.”
